As explained in our post Richest Man in Babylon Quotes, the richest man in ancient Babylon is a man named Arkad. After seeking help from some old friends with lean purses, or what we might call, thin wallets, Arkad gives them some advice. Much of that advice is found in the Seven Cures for a Lean Purse section of the book.
